Description: This full-day course provides a comprehensive examination of the International Building Code requirements that govern the design, construction, and inspection of multi-family residential buildings, with a particular focus on Group R 2 occupancies. The course explores the unique challenges of Type V A construction—one of the most demanding construction types due to its reliance on closely coordinated fire resistive features and protection systems. Participants will review building planning requirements, fire resistance rated construction, fire protection systems, and means of egress provisions, gaining a practical understanding of how these elements work together to ensure safe, code compliant multi family structures.
