Instructor: Steve Thomas Description: Addresses the relationship of the IEBC to existing buildings. Focuses on the fundamental requirements of IEBC that are placed on an existing structure that undergoes repair work, alteration, renovation activity or construction of an addition, and the effect of a change in the building’s occupancy classification. Briefly discusses the “compliance alternatives” method. Topics include regulations of additions, alterations and repairs, changes of occupancy considerations, compliance alternatives and application of the IEBC.
