Beyond the Permit Counter: Understanding Residential Plans and Inspections

Participants will learn how to identify key components of residential construction plans and gain insight into what plan reviewers and inspectors look for during the permitting and inspection process. Through real-world examples, the class will compare construction plans with inspection photos to show how details on paper translate to what inspectors see in the field. Designed for permit technicians interested in expanding their knowledge of the building process and how each role works together to ensure safe, code-compliant construction.
