Description: This 2-hr course provides a code grounded overview of residential mechanical systems as regulated in the model International Residential Code (IRC) and Mechanical Codes (IMC). Course material will examine how heating, cooling, ventilation, and distribution systems are designed, installed, and inspected to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of building occupants and the general public. The session emphasizes critical mechanical provisions and connects each requirement to real world impacts on occupant well being. The session highlights the importance of code interpretation, system evaluation, and proper field installation expectations on compliance, durability, and long term public protection.
